Suite Tsukimi - The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto
Discover Perfect Harmony in the Cultural Heart of Kyoto
Boasting beautiful views of the Kamo River and Higashiyama Mountain, The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto’s Suite Tsukimi offers guests a
one-of-a-kind experience that displays the natural beauty of Kyoto with an outdoor moon viewing deck and Japanese garden, lit by lanterns inspired by the Edu-style architecture seen throughout the city.
Blending contemporary design with tasteful floral accents, the Suite Tsukimi offers guests an elevated, yet comfortable experience. The suite’s most unique feature is the cherry blossom designed bathroom with full marble floors and a rainforest shower head that features all the Japanese essentials: yukata, imabari bathrobes and slippers along with Kyoto Shabon-ya handmade sops and bath salts. The amenities include: complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary water, 24-hour room service, 24-hour butler service, a welcome amenity made by our pastry department and exclusive Asprey bathroom amenities.
What is the typical day in the life of a suite? At 1,505 square feet on the resort’s fifth floor, a typical day preparing the Suite Tsukimi is a busy one. Attention to detail is very important to get me ready for that “wow moment” when my next visitors arrive, and kudos to the Housekeeping team for changing my fine 600-thread count linens and arranging fresh flowers each day. Next up, the Food and Beverage team makes sure that my guests are greeted with a special welcome amenity–which is always a surprise to keep things interesting! An added bonus–my mini-bar is stocked with gourmet products and selected wines. We only feature the best for my visitors.
Is there a famous name, a particular street or monument that you most identify with? What inspired your style? Definitely the Kamogawa River, a beautiful sight during any time of the year. Many locals and tourists find themselves strolling on the Kamogawa River to enjoy the many outdoor dining experiences and get a breath of fresh air. Here, you will find and meet all kinds of people, whether they are jogging, cycling, painting, or just wanting to talk and meet you.
What sets you apart from other suites in this city? As guests walk into the Suite Tsukimi, they are welcomed by the stunning panoramic views of the Kamogawa River and Higashiyama mountains. With expansive space, elevated amenities and a local Japanese design touch, the Suite Tsukimi sets itself apart from other suites in the city with its stunning decor and private moon viewing deck to enjoy the natural beauty of Kyoto.
What would be your advice for a first time guest visiting? The city's liveliest downtown districts, including Gion, Pontocho and Kawaramachi, are well within reach; for those wishing to travel further afield, Kyoto Station is just a short distance away. The cultural heart of Japan lies waiting to be discovered, and The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto brings it to life in magnificent fashion.
