Lake Como

Lake Como. The Ferrari of Italian lakes known for its artistic and cultural gems, beyond picturesque scenery, and ancient paths that lead through charmed villages and beyond. This iconic Italian summer getaway has been featured in a slew of movies – Casino Royale and House of Gucci to name a few. As the deepest freshwater lake in the country, water activities are a must. Windsurf, sail, and tour the lake’s shorefront towns via water taxi. Whether you are sitting on a boat gazing up at the Alps or touring a luxurious villa, Lake Como will transport you back in time – to a time you’ve always dreamed of… If mountains, villas, and cappuccinos are your thing!

What we would do:

Botanical Garden at Hotel Villa Cipressi. Built in the 1400s, Hotel Villa Cipressi is open to the public and has unique views of Lake Como that will leave you breathless. Stroll the stunning shorefront grounds between stairways and terraces and discover local plants specially chosen with the climate in mind.

Forte di Fuentes. A little off the beaten path, Forte di Fuentes is a must-see for history lovers. The historic fort was built in the 17th century and represents the few remains of the Spanish dominion of the area.

Hike the ancient Sentiero de Viandante trail. Take a private guided trek through paths dating back to Roman times. A wonderful way to discover the local fauna with panoramic mountain views
