A fan of Coca-Cola, she will bring her own on the plane if necessary. "Seabourn Square is tremendous - that center section where people can co-mingle - it's a great meeting spot". Dining options are really unique. "Everything is just a little bit bigger, but it maintains that high quality of service and food and the onboard experience that everybody knows about Seabourn." For families looking for a five-and six-star experience on a ship, Seabourn does a nice job of creating a small children's program. CEO and Chairman Valerie Ann Wilson, Co-Presidents Jennifer Wilson-Buttigieg and Kimberly Wilson Wetty with their respective husbands attended the Make-A-Wish Gala at Cipriani Wall Street where $2.1 million was raised.

The enormous outpouring of support from all the attendees in addition to the efforts of two highly effective fundraisers and honorees Jimmy Lee and Mike Delaney (MAW) made the night a huge success. A $500,000 challenge match for wishes and the presence of more than a dozen wish families who touched many hearts made the event even more special.

May 3, 2011 – Jennifer Wilson-Buttigieg spoke about some of the bargains available to travelers as a result of a weaker dollar. She mentioned that hotels were doing value added amenities as well as a guaranteed dollar rate tied to a specific time period. She cited Brazil, Portugal and Greece because of the economic challenges as being great travel bargains in addition to traveling during shoulder seasons. She also spoke about cruise lines as being a great value because many were including air fare and the costs were known ahead of time

The ship's grand staircase twinkles with Lalique glass on the railing of every step. The teak decks are pristine and the Barista Bars are seemingly everywhere when you need a coffee. The ship looks enormous from the dock but belies the intimate warmth of the on deck atmosphere.

Held at the NYSE Euronext, The Summit theme this year was “What if…”

During the event, the 360 Leadership Award was presented to Chris Anderson, Curator of TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) conferences, which are held in the U.S., Asia and Europe each year. Previously he founded Future Publishing. The mission of TED is “ideas worth spreading”. More than 700 TED talks have been released free online and as of July 2010, have been viewed over 290 million times. He also oversaw the introduction of the TED Prize, the TED Fellows Program, the TED open translation program, and the TEDx program, allowing hundreds of independently organized TED-like events to be held around the world.

The 360 Leadership Award is based on extraordinary achievement and a particular leader’s personification of “360 Leadership” which demonstrates the ability to:

• Perform with excellence in several arenas, each requiring different skills

Each table was hosted by a leader in their field. Jennifer was honored to meet General Raymond E. Johns (Commander, Air Mobility Command, USAF). General Johns leads the men and women of our nation’s Air Mobility Command – active duty, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve and civilians – responsible for the rapid, global mobility and sustainment of all America’s armed forces. Under General Johns’ leadership, the Air Mobility Command also provides crucial humanitarian support at home and around the world, including airlift, aerial refueling, special air missions and aeromedical evacuations.

Some of the “What if…” discussion topics included:

• What if…companies mandated that their employees spend four paid days per year performing community service at an organization or for a cause of their choice?
• What if…we taxed companies for excessive packaging of their products
• What it…we set up in every community a system where we were responsible for each other in case of emergency? How could your business participate in, or facilitate this?

All attendees at this summit were C-suite executives and/or board of directors of public companies.

In July of 2008 at the National Business Traveler's Association Convention in Los Angeles, Continental Airlines announced it's new Lie Flat BusinessFirst seat. After years in development, Continental Airlines announced in June 2010 that all aircraft scheduled to fly to London Heathrow are now equipped with the new flatbed seat in BusinessFirst. Installation on Hong Kong bound flights began in October of 2009 and will continue through early 2011.

The hour long discussion ranged in topics from booking trends, the economy, the political situation in Mexico, the “image” of Mexico as a destination, and how to promote Los Cabos to the US market

In attending the Preferred Hotels Travel Advisory Board Meeting VWT Executive Director/Sales & Industry Relations Director Dan Beschloss had the pleasure of spending three nights at one of their new member hotels, The Upper House, located in Central, Hong Kong (at pacific Place).

The Upper House, open for just under one year sits atop the JW Marriott, is run completely independently from the Marriott and has its own entrance and elevators. Says Dan, "The staff is incredibly courteous and attentive. The restaurant, Café Grey, (formerly located at The Time Warner Center in new York City), sits on the top floor (49th) of the hotel and offers all day dining and wrap around views of the harbor as well as Kowloon and Hong Kong Island."

He also added, "What makes this hotel most unique is the layout and the design features of the property and rooms. I had the privilege of being given a site inspection by its architect and designer, Andre Fu. To quote Mr. Fu, he has created a "haven of calm and quiet space". Valerie Ann Wilson and Kimberly Wilson Wetty both dined in newly built art-deco and brasserie-inspired restaurant where they dined on contemporary classic cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Mark Payne. Menu items include twists on classic dishes made from fresh ingredients provided by local and greater area farmers. Named for it's 2010 debut, Deca's authentic cuisine and stylish setting was the perfect match for the personable service, creating a memorable experience for the visiting New Yorkers.

Jennifer Wilson-Buttigieg is serving as a panelist, others include executives from MasterCard Worldwide, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, and other noted industry experts.

FORT LAUDERDALE -- Luxury line Silversea Cruises today christened the Silver Spirit, its first new ship in nearly a decade.

The low-key event, held dockside under a blazing sun at Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades, featured a short performance by an ensemble of Silversea musicians and brief remarks by several company executives.

"I think that few people will not say that this is the finest ship in the fleet," the company's chairman, Manfredi Lefebvre D'Ovidio told a crowd of invited guests, journalists and passengers sailing on the vessel's 91-day Grand Inaugural Voyage. "It's a piece of art."

Lefebvre D'Ovidio, whose family founded the line 17 years ago, said the ship's construction is a sign of the family's commitment to the brand.

"This is not only a very good investment, it's also something that we feel with our heart," he said. "It's part of us (and) ... a legacy that we want to leave to our new generations."

Pointing back to the ship, Lefebvre D'Ovidio indicated more new vessels were to come. "You will see more of these," he said.

Another member of the line's founding family, Silvia Lefebvre D'Ovidio, served as godmother for the vessel.

At 36,000-tons, the all-suite Spirit is about 27% larger by volume than the line's next largest ships, the Silver Whisper and Silver Shadow, allowing room for more restaurants, a larger spa and other new amenities.

The Spirit is designed to hold 540 passengers at double occupancy, about 41% more than Whisper and Shadow. With its addition, Silversea now has six vessels.
